My name is Delmer Loflin and I am a current second semester freshman at the University of Central Florida, Go Knights!

I graduated from Branford High School, a year early, in 2014. During my time at BHS I enjoyed being very involved with projects such as Relay for Life and the BJ Garcia Run for Research. I was also Co-President of the Beta Club my senior year and a member of the National Honor Society both clubs which participated in many service projects. Being involved in a small town helped me grow and appreciate the kindness and support of others.

At UCF I am studying business and hope to, after graduation, pursue a career in the field of Real Estate; whether it be selling homes or working with vacation rentals, who knows what the future will bring. Since my time at UCF I have become involved with organizations such as Homecoming and the Campus Activities Board. I love being as involved as I can while still excelling in class; staying busy keeps me sane.

I was honored to receive the 2014 Brotherhood Memorial Scholarship; the scholarship money helped me get my foot in the door as a college student living on my own for the first time. I used some of the money to buy books and pay pesky college fees, but I also did a rather adult thing and put some of the money into a savings account. I am very thankful to have been recognized for my hard work and dedication by such an amazing organization; I fully intend to keep actively supporting the Run for Research in any way I possibly can.
